Cynosure, Inc. Introduces Affirm(TM) Skin Rejuvenation Device

WESTFORD, Mass., Feb. 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Cynosure, Inc. , a leading developer and manufacturer of lasers and pulsed light sources, today announced the introduction of its new Affirm(TM) product, a multi-energy system for skin rejuvenation, including treatments for wrinkles, skin texture and discoloration. The Affirm system, which recently received FDA clearance, will be introduced at the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) conference in San Francisco, March 3-7, 2006 and will be launched at the American Society of Lasers in Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS) conference, which is being held April 7-9, 2006.

The Affirm system has been designed to bring greater flexibility to physician practices by supporting a diverse range of high-volume skin rejuvenation applications. Utilizing a proprietary delivery system, the Affirm product is the first system to combine multiple energy sources in one platform to provide treatment for wrinkles, micro-rejuvenation and skin discoloration.

Weiss, MD of the Laser Skin & Vein Institute, Baltimore, MD will present a clinical lecture at the AAD meeting on March 6, 2006, entitled "Microfocussing Techniques of Non-Ablative Lasers for Wrinkling and Scar Collagen Remodeling." The lecture will discuss the clinical application of the Affirm system for the treatment of mild facial wrinkles, depressed acne scars and photo aging of the chest, neck and other extremities such as the hands and legs.

Additional clinical findings relating to the use of the Affirm system will be presented in the form of four presentation abstracts that have been accepted for the upcoming ASLMS conference April 7-9, 2006 in Boston.
