YPSILANTI, Mich., April 26 /PRNewswire/ -- The Hemophilia Foundation of Michigan presented several awards at its Annual Membership meeting held April 23-24, 2005, at the Bavarian Inn Lodge, Frankenmuth, MI.
Nicolas Hosford of Belmont, Michigan and Nathan Long of Bridgman, Michigan received Scholarship Awards. "We are very pleased to present these scholarships in recognition of the academic achievements of these two young adults. We know these awards will assist them as they pursue their professional goals in higher education," said Shelley Gerson, President of the HFM Board of Directors.
Kathy Bosma, RN, BS, MPA, East Lansing, Michigan and Karen Ridley, RDH, MS, Ann Arbor, Michigan each received the Professional Excellence Award. "Kathy and Karen are untiring in their service to our bleeding disorders community. It is with great pleasure that we recognize their significant and highly professional efforts," said President Gerson.
Lauren Shellenberger, BSN, JD, Ann Arbor, Michigan was named Volunteer of the Year. "Lauren has contributed many hours as a volunteer on several different projects. She has used her expertise as a health care attorney to explain complicated legal issues in understandable terms," said Ivan C. Harner, HFM Executive Director.
