CIGNA Pharmacy Management Selects Sheila Talty To Lead Specialty Pharmacy Division

BLOOMFIELD, Conn., July 6, 2004 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- CIGNA Pharmacy Management (CPM) today announced that Sheila Talty, RPh, MBA, has been named vice president of the Specialty Pharmacy Division. Talty is a seasoned health care executive with almost 20 years of senior-level experience in specialty pharmacy management. She will be based in Bloomfield, CT.

In her new position, Talty will be responsible for the development and operation of the specialty pharmacy business for one of the leading pharmacy benefit management (PBM) companies in the United States. “With her health plan pharmacy benefit management, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and specialty pharmacy and wholesaler experience, Sheila brings an unusual combination of experience and expertise necessary to help our customers manage this growing segment of the pharmacy benefit,” said James Bryant, president, CIGNA Pharmacy Management. “Sheila is uniquely qualified to lead our efforts of integrated health plan and PBM operations to become the leader in the specialty pharmacy arena.”

Before joining CPM, Talty held several positions of leadership in specialty pharmacy management including health plan liaison that included specialty initiatives at Anthem, Inc. and vice president and general manager of Alpha Therapeutic Services, Inc., a nationwide home health care provider and pharmacy distributor. She started her career at Bayer Corporation where she held a variety of positions including product director, market research analyst and account executive. Throughout her career, she has served on non- profit consumer boards that assist individuals with rare diseases. Talty holds an MBA from the University of New Haven and a BS in Pharmacy from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science.
