The Week In Review: Highest Weekly Close For Biotech In 2005

July 10, 2005 -- Last week, biotech put in a rip-roaring performance. In a holiday-shortened span comprising just 4 trading days, the Centient Biotech 200 managed to climb 4.41%. Ending at 3511.33, after rising 148 points, the CBT 200 had the highest weekly closing price of the year. If 3500 on the CBT 200 was Mt. Everest, then Amgen was the Sherpa. The biotech behemoth was tenth on the list of percentage winners for the week, rising 13.6%, with a gain in market capitalization over $11 billion.
