Outsourcing Drug Development: Are We There Yet?

Opportunity abounds but many obstacles remain... Many companies and investors are looking to developing countries for new opportunities to reduce costs, expand business, and invest in new ventures. India has made huge inroads in high tech outsourcing, saving companies billions of dollars annually, but causing major headaches for Silicon Valley employment numbers. Now many fear drug development will be the next industry to fall victim to outsourcing because of the ready access to highly trained scientists at much lower costs. But outsourcing drug development is much more complicated than may appear on the surface.
