Chicken Genes May Yield Cancer Fighting Substance, Texas A&M University Study

An antibacterial substance found in chickens could one day help fight diseases and even lead to new ways to attack cancer, say researchers. James Womack, professor of veterinary pathobiology in the College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences at Texas A&M University, is co-author of a paper detailing the team’s work that appears in the current issue of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
