Medical device-maker AngioDynamics Inc. expects to add eight jobs over the next two or three months as it moves overseas manufacturing to Queensbury, New York.
AngioDynamics (Nasdaq: ANGO) is the second-biggest public company based in the Capital Region, when ranked by market value.
AngioDynamics has had a laser-production site in Cambridge, England, as a result of a prior acquisition.
The company has decided to move the work to Queensbury, the site of a sizable manufacturing operation with 305 workers.
The move will be completed in February 2012 and cost $1.6 million, though AngioDynamics expects to save $1 million a year with the switch. The company disclosed the move in a regulatory filing this month.
AngioDynamics is headquartered in Latham, with 84 employees there. The global company designs and produces medical devices for the treatment of tumors and diseases that affect the circulatory system.
