London, April 3, 2017 – AMSilk GmbH, the world’s first industrial supplier of synthetic silk biopolymers, will present the latest product of ocean pharma, skinicer® OXYPERM, a new water-based and breathable nail polish, at in-cosmetics Global in London. AMSilk will also be exhibiting Silkbeads and Silkgel, its innovative, vegan ingredients for cosmetic applications, together with its distribution partner RAHN AG.
At this year’s in-cosmetics Global, AMSilk and its production partner ocean pharma will present the world’s first breathable nail polish with functional, vegan silk. Most nail polishes currently on the market seal off the nails from any external oxygen supply. In contrast, skinicer® OXYPERM’s special formula creates a breathable and protective film on the nail, resulting in a beautiful finish that allows water vapor and oxygen permeability. This permeability is especially important for nail health – oxygen access prevents nail discoloration, while water permeability improves the overall wellbeing of the nail. Its remarkable efficacy is based on the broad therapeutic spectrum of the patented active extract from microalgae, Spiralin®, with its natural antibacterial, antiviral and cell-regenerative properties. In addition to being highly breathable, OXYPERM is solvent-free, odor-free, extremely gentle and suitable even for sensitive and fragile nails.
OXYPERM relies on AMSilk’s functional silk biopolymers to deliver unique properties (like breathability and protection against pollutants) to its customers. AMSilk provides two ingredients for cosmetics applications: Silkbeads (microparticles) and Silkgel (hydrogel). Silkbeads ensure that the skin retains moisture and create a matte effect by absorbing excess sebum. When incorporated into anti-aging products, Silkbeads can generate an optical correction of wrinkles, called “soft-focus” effect. Silkgel acts like a “second skin” by shielding the skin from airborne pollutants and bacteria while maintaining skin’s breathability. With Silkgel’s ability to protect the skin, it meets the specific needs of the “anti-pollution” trend of the cosmetic industry worldwide.
AMSilk’s hypoallergenic, biocompatible silk biopolymers have been awarded an “excellent” rating by the Dermatest research institute for its good skin tolerance. In February, AMSilk’s biopolymers also received the Vegan Society trademark, confirming that AMSilk’s organic biopolymers are 100% free of animal ingredients and that no animal testing is used at any point in the development or production process.
We look forward to welcoming you at this year’s in-cosmetics Global at booth No. N50 of RAHN AG.
