Amgen is expanding its campus in Seattle with plans to construct at least five new buildings on the 40-acre property it owns at Pier 89. The Thousand Oaks, Calif.-based biotechnology company said today it plans to knock down old warehouses on the site and replace them with 550,000 square feet of office, laboratory and warehouse space. That's enough room to add up to 750 workers -- possibly doubling the staff at the Seattle campus.
