AMSTERDAM, Jan 25 (Reuters) - Dutch chemical group Akzo Nobel NV (AKZO.AS: Quote, Profile, Research) (AKZOY.O: Quote, Profile, Research) said on Wednesday it was shutting its Delfzijl factory and cutting 300 jobs as part of an ongoing reorganisation of its chemicals business in the Netherlands. Akzo said in a statement it had decided to shut the Delfzijl factory on March 31 as a result of its continuing poor results and sombre outlook. The plant employs 33 people. Akzo also said its plans to restructure its Dutch chemicals business meant it would cut about 300 jobs. The planned sale of certain activities would affect a further 600 jobs.
