After going to battle in courts on either side of the Atlantic ocean over competing genetic data products, Affymetrix and Illumina finally reached an agreement that investors believe is in the latter’s favor. Affymetrix and Illumina announced on Thursday that they have reached an agreement to resolve their patent litigation. Under the terms of the deal Illumina, without admitting liability, will make a one-time payment of $90 million to Affymetrix, which will be made once the litigations have been formally dismissed by the courts.
