Accelrys, Inc. (NASDAQ: ACCL), a leading provider of scientific business intelligence software and services, today announced the release of the first components of the Cheminformatics Collection for Pipeline Pilot. The new award-winning components simplify searching of scientific databases, including chemistry data sources, enabling the scientific and research community to streamline collaboration and increase research productivity.
Pipeline Pilot is a powerful software platform that streamlines integration and analysis of vast quantities of data flooding research informatics. It enables the construction of workflows by graphically combining components for data retrieval, filtering, analysis, and reporting. Component Collections enable Pipeline Pilot’s powerful client-server platform to perform specific tasks such as scientific analyses, informatics, data mining and modeling, imaging or reporting.
The Cheminformatics Collection is designed to support the development of enterprise cheminformatics systems and applications using Pipeline Pilot. The List Management and Query Services (LMQS) system brings high-performance, chemistry-focused search and hit list management capabilities to Pipeline Pilot. It enables researchers and scientists to more efficiently manage and leverage vast amounts of complex scientific data. LMQS offers simplified searching of databases throughout the global R&D enterprise -- whatever their type -- providing fast, interactive web-based query and browsing via forms design, which allows scientists and researchers to drag and drop the data they need onto the form where they want it. It also offers Pipeline Pilot users simplified and unified access to databases to start their data analysis workflows.
LMQS recently received the best new product award, Chemistry division, at the Molecule Medicine Tri-Conference in San Francisco and was recognized for innovation in the life-science industry.
“LMQS is a breakthrough tool that enables scientists and researchers to access and analyze data throughout the enterprise and report the results in several ways via an easy-to-use, drag and drop graphical interface,” said Dr. Frank Brown, Chief Science Officer of Accelrys. “The results can be automatically updated as data changes, thus enabling the scientist or researcher to use the latest available data in order to obtain timely and useful results.”
LMQS is available now. Each collection for Pipeline Pilot is sold separately, but requires a license to the Pipeline Pilot platform.
