DANVERS, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Abiomed, Inc. (NASDAQ: ABMD) today announced the appointment of Paul Krell to the position of General Manager for its European operations, based in Aachen, Germany. Paul Krell joins Abiomed from ev3 Europe where he most recently served as Vice President, Europe, in the Neurovascular Division. He has more than 14 years of experience in the medical device industry, with a strong cardiac background built during his tenure at Guidant, where Mr. Krell held several management positions, including Country Manager in Germany for Cardiac Surgery Products and European Marketing Manager for Tachyarrhythmia Products.
