WILMINGTON, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 7, 2006--AAIPharma Inc. announced today that it has emerged from chapter 11, and the Company’s Joint Chapter 11 Plan has become effective. As previously announced, AAIPharma and its domestic subsidiaries filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection with the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware on May 10, 2005, and the Company’s Joint Chapter 11 Plan was confirmed by the Court on January 20, 2006. The Company’s chapter 11 process included a sale of substantially all of the assets of its pharmaceutical division in July 2005 and the restructuring of the Company’s business around its development services division.
