Education is critically important to helping displaced workers find good jobs now and to prepare today’s students for tomorrow’s work force. It’s a common refrain heard from many national leaders when discussing economic issues. A good example of a program meeting the new educational needs of growing industries can be found at southeast Iowa’s Indian Hills Community College. In partnership with that area’s industries and government leaders, the college built the Iowa Bioprocess Training Center several years ago. Located in Eddyville, it offers programs designed to meet the biotechnology training needs of area businesses.
