A Billion for Biotech: $$ for Research, Stem-Cell Bank in Massachusetts

Gov. Deval Patrick yesterday threw the gauntlet down to the rest of the biotech world by pledging $1 billion over the next 10 years to fund research, labs and the creation of what he called a “secret weapon,” a new stem-cell bank to be shared by local universities and firms.
