SAN FRANCISCO- A Bermuda-based charity gave $50 million in cash to help construct a new building for cardiovascular research at the University of California, San Francisco, school officials announced Tuesday. The donation by The Atlantic Philanthropies represents the school’s largest cash contribution and will be used as part of the planned $241-million Cardiovascular Research Institute, construction of which is scheduled to break ground next year at UCSF’s Mission Bay campus.
