I’ve had the Samsung Gear 2 for several months now. What will be the most realistic everyday use of the iWatch (or any smartwatch)? Notifications. Unlike most people (guys), I do not carry my phone in my pocket. It’s usually in a jacket pocket, a purse, or a bag – so I have a tendency to miss email/text/FB message notifications, even phone calls, because I do not hear the ringtone or feel the buzzing. On the flip side, even when I do have the phone closely at hand, so many of my notifications do not require immediate attention. The screen of the Gear is small, but it’s still more than enough space to show exactly what kind of notification (who is calling? what kind of email?) it is, so I can quickly discern whether or not I should act on it. The same goes with Calendar notifications; I get buzzed for upcoming events.
