Abed Abdo named Chief Financial Officer of ALSAC, the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital

MEMPHIS, Tenn., Dec. 16, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- ALSAC, the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital®, has announced that Abed Abdo has joined its team as chief financial officer. Abed will report to CEO Richard Shadyac, Jr., and play a key role in helping the organization strategically leverage analytical and financial information to advance growth and position the organization for the future.

Abed was previously the vice president of finance, Americas, at ConvaTec, a global medical device company. Prior to that he spent 19 years with Abbott Laboratories, a globally diversified healthcare company, in leadership positions of increasing responsibility where he led the global finance function as division controller of Abbott Molecular Diagnostics and served as area finance director of Latin America for Abbott Nutrition. He started his career in public accounting and spent six years in Audit and Business Consulting with Arthur Andersen. Abed has lived and worked in seven countries across three continents. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Business Administration from the University of Jordan and is qualified as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) from the state of Illinois.
