Stewart retired in 2003 from Ethicon, Inc., a division of healthcare giant Johnson & Johnson, following a distinguished 28-year career that culminated with his role as both a member of their Board of Directors and Vice President of Strategic Planning. Ethicon is the multibillion-dollar flagship business unit of J&J and the recognized worldwide leader in the development of innovative surgical and diagnostic products. Stewart began his career with Johnson & Johnson in 1974 as a field sales representative based in Cincinnati and throughout his career served in a number of sales and marketing positions within the corporation, including Vice President of Sales for Ethicon worldwide.
Stewart also brings keen insights into the hospital environment through his experience as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Somerset Medical Center, where he has served in this capacity for the past nine years. Somerset Medical Center is a 104-year-old, nationally accredited, 355-bed medical center located in Somerset County, NJ. Stewart also serves as a member of the Board for the Visiting Nurse Association of Somerset Hills.
