Lille (France), Cambridge (Massachusetts - USA), September 23, 2010, Naturalpha, international consulting, scientific and clinical research company in Nutrition and Health, partner of Food and Pharmaceutical Industries, is proud to announce the very promising start of it’s Clinical Investigation Center for Nutrition (CNCN) based in a major hospital in Lille (North of France).
Inaugurated only six months ago, the CNCN, whose main function is to perform clinical trials in healthy volunteers for functional ingredients, food supplements and finished foods, is currently conducting several clinical studies and now leans on an extensive and very informative database of volunteers.
Building on the success and satifsfaction of our actual partners, Naturalpha expects to launch soon other clinical trials within the CNCN and plans to at least double the number of volunteers enrolled in its database by 2011.
Ongoing Clinical nutrition studies
Manufacturers specialized in Nutrition & Health have increasing and specific needs to develop their nutritional products and therefore rely on Naturalpha’s expertise and benefit from the international clinical trials offer proposed by their Clinical Investigation center for Nutrition. In fact, Naturalpha is currently conducting various clinical studies on behalf of local and international clients (ingredients manufacturers, dietary supplements makers and food industries). To date, dozens of volunteers have already been included in clinical trials. These studies are carried out integrally, from the design step, up to the result delivery and the final clinical report. The working fields are various and the duration can vary from weeks to several months.

About Naturalpha’s Clinical Nutrition Center (CNCN) The CNCN is located within the Hospital Saint Vincent de Paul, a major hospital in the center of Lille. The team is composed of physicians, nurses, clinical technicians and has access to a wide expertise, equipments, services and facilities of the Hospital.

Clinical nutrition studies
The study, with a duration of several months is performed in humans to evaluate the characteristics, effects and safety of functional ingredients, food supplements and finished foods. The conditions for a clinical study are strictly defined and regulated by law. Finally, the study participation must be voluntary. Every clinical trial must be approved in advance and monitored by an ethics committee consisting of physicians, statisticians, lawyers, and representatives of civil society etc., to ensure that risks are as low as possible in relation to the expected and verified benefits.
