Trial Shows Drugs Prevent HIV Before Exposure, The Fertility Institute and Brown University Study

Boston Globe -- Antiretroviral drug cocktails have transformed HIV infection into a chronic disease rather than a death sentence. Now an international trial with Boston researchers and participants reports that men at high risk for contracting the virus that causes AIDS were less likely to become infected if they took a daily pill combining these antiretroviral drugs before being exposed to HIV.
