Dr. Philipson previously served in the public sector as the senior economic advisor to the FDA Commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), as well as to the Administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) during the second Bush Administration. Dr. Philipson is currently Co-Director of the Center for Choice in the Department of Economics at the University of Chicago.
