June 12, 2005 -- Looking for excitement? If the last week is any indication, maybe the stock market isn’t the place for you. The week was comprised of 4 fairly small losses, interrupted on Thursday by a significant 1.5% gain, based on comments by Fed Chairman Greenspan. Last week the Centient Biotech 200 lost a net 15 points to close at 3334.60, a drop of .45%, the second week in a row to register a decline. Xoma was the best performing biotech stock last week, rising a full 34% after receiving (the week before) a milestone payment from Diversa, SciClone moved up on reports (later denied) of take-over interest, Endo Pharma climbed after receiving a judicial go-ahead for a generic version of OxyContin, ImClone released good news about Erbitux, and Auxilium won back some of the money investors have lost since the company came public a year ago.
