Schneible will lead Komen’s efforts to develop new and diverse funding sources and strengthen philanthropic activities. She will guide, build and enhance all development initiatives, including major gifts, planned giving, direct mail, gift solicitation and gift management.

McGhee will oversee Komen’s cause marketing programs and corporate sponsorships. She will also develop Komen for the Cure’s multicultural marketing efforts to engage new audiences and further strengthen existing relationships with Komen.

Schneible Background

Schneible joined Susan G. Komen for the Cure in 1992 to develop and manage what has become the world’s largest series of 5k run/fitness walks, the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure(R) Series. Under her leadership, the Komen Race for the Cure Series grew from 24 events raising $3.2 million in 1992 to 120 events raising $119 million 14 years later. The Race Series has also grown internationally with events in Italy, Germany and Puerto Rico.

Schneible is also credited with positioning Susan G. Komen for the Cure as a leader and widely emulated role model in cause marketing. Working with a handful of corporations who initially partnered with Komen in the late 1980s as Race sponsors, Schneible encouraged them to create additional ways to engage with the organization and the general public. Susan G. Komen for the Cure now has more than 130 partners, offering a wide range of products and programs that provide breast health educational outreach while giving people at all income levels convenient ways to engage with Komen and support its efforts.

“Cindy Schneible’s extraordinary talent for building strategic, long-term alliances with corporate partners has been key to Komen’s success in recent years. It is because of her skills and her dedication to quality and integrity that she has been chosen to lead Komen through its next phase of organizational growth,” said Hala Moddelmog, president and CEO of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Prior to joining Komen, Schneible was political director for North Texas Congressman Steve Bartlett, from 1985 through 1991. She is president of the board of directors for Health and Medical Research Charities of America. In 2002, Ms. Schneible was selected as one of Promo Magazine’s Marketers of the Year.

McGhee Background

McGhee joined Susan G. Komen for the Cure in 2006 as director of cause marketing. In this position, she was responsible for development, oversight and staff management of relationships and programs with Komen for the Cure’s corporate partners and their cause related marketing initiatives. She provided counsel to the organization’s Affiliate Network to develop and implement cause marketing programs, partnerships and events to generate revenue in support of the organization’s promise to end breast cancer forever.

Credited with developing new and creative marketing and fundraising initiatives, like Komen’s Passionately Pink for the Cure(TM) program, McGhee will create more opportunities for the organization to leverage existing programs, like Komen on the Go(TM), a touring breast health and breast cancer awareness vehicle, and Komen’s six population-specific national advisory councils. McGhee’s charge is to help Komen reach more deeply into minority populations and to engage and integrate young people more fully into its mission,

Prior to joining Komen, McGhee spent a number of years at the American Heart Association national center as the director of marketing. During her tenure there, McGhee developed, launched and managed a number of public health campaigns, including Choose to Move and Take Wellness to Heart. A pioneer in her field, she was one of the first to receive significant pharmaceutical funding of long-term national health awareness programs. Before she worked at AHA, McGhee managed a number of campaigns targeted at minority audiences and Fortune 500 companies to promote community involvement.

“In a single year, Katrina McGhee has amply demonstrated keen insight into ways to engage audiences that are crucial to Komen’s continued growth. She is passionate about what she does for the organization and will draw on her creative talents and experience to engage increasingly more diverse population groups with Komen,” said Moddelmog.

McGhee is a member of the American Marketing Association and National Association of Female Executives.
