Susan G. Komen for the Cure Names Salerno as New CEO

The Susan G. Komen Board of Directors has named Judith A. Salerno president and CEO of the Dallas-based nonprofit. Salerno, a medical doctor, is the executive director and chief operating officer of the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences. The board selected Salerno after launching an executive search last August. Salerno will replace Komen founder Nancy Brinker, who will serve as Komen’s founder and chair of Global Strategy. Salerno will be responsible for the daily operations of the nonprofit, which includes 120 affiliates.
