ORLANDO, Florida, February 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Footfall at INFORMEX(R) 2006 in Orlando - at 4,040 registered visitors - virtually matched that of the 2005 staging of the flagship US chemical trade show, and traffic quality was rated more highly. At 500, booth numbers were a record for the event. Visitor pre-registrations were 30% up on 2005, underlining the show’s stature in the industry calendar.
The show was held for the first time under the ownership and management of CMP Information (CMPi) which has recently opened a new office in Princeton NJ to promote future US shows.
With 110 first-time exhibitors, INFORMEX(R) 2006 recorded a 43% participation by companies from outside the US, underlining its international stature. The lead nations from 39 exhibiting countries were USA (285 exhibitors - including 223 members of event partner SOCMA); China (76), the UK (27), Italy (21), Japan (12) and Germany (10).
In line with its commitment to take INFORMEX(R) global, via a series of new events, CMPi announced in Orlando that China will be the show’s first overseas destination. The debut of INFORMEX(R) China will be at Guangzhou’s Liuhua complex, with opening dates of Monday 6 - Wednesday 8 November 2006.

INFORMEX(R) 2007/2008:
For 2007, the US INFORMEX(R) will be on the West Coast, and held in San Francisco on Tuesday 13 - Friday 16 February 2007. The show will be in the Moscone Center West, the newest element of the city center complex, completed in 2003. CMPi plans that INFORMEX(R) 2008 will return to New Orleans’ Morial Convention Center. Dates for 2008 will be Tuesday 29 January - Friday 1 February.
The global roll-out of the INFORMEX(R) brand will continue with the 2007 debut of two further new INFORMEX(R) events. Location and date announcements will follow later over the next few months.
