“We commend CMS for working diligently to issue the final regulations quickly to provide information essential to implementation efforts. We are in the process of reviewing the entire regulatory structure for both the prescription drug program and the Medicare Advantage program and commend CMS for working hard to create a sound regulatory framework that will give beneficiaries the full value of the new initiatives and provide a workable regulatory environment for private plans.

“America’s seniors and Medicare beneficiaries with disabilities will see the most important changes to the Medicare program since its inception starting in January 2006. The Medicare Modernization Act (MMA) will add a prescription drug benefit that is essential to providing high quality care for beneficiaries. In addition, the MMA will expand private sector health plan choices for beneficiaries throughout the nation. Our members are committed to working side-by-side with CMS and other stakeholders to make the new programs a success.”
