GREENVILLE, S.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Span-America Medical Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:SPAN) today reported a 21% increase in net sales to $15.2 million and a 72% increase in net income to $1.3 million, or $0.43 per diluted share, for the third quarter ended June 30, 2007, compared with the third quarter of fiscal 2006. “Span-America’s excellent third quarter results benefited from strong sales in our medical segment, growth in margins, and improved operating leverage,” stated Jim Ferguson, president and CEO of Span-America Medical Systems. “Our proprietary line of therapeutic support surfaces was a major contributor to our overall sales growth compared with last year. We also benefited from solid sales growth in our consumer bedding product lines during the quarter.”
