New York State is embracing the advancement of hemp-based products under the guidance of both Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and Richard A. Ball, Commissioner of Agriculture and Markets,” said Michael Falcone, co-founder and CEO of Southern Tier Hemp. “New York’s Southern Tier is a phenomenal area to harvest and produce our products at our new facility. It’s an ideal location for our headquarters to cultivate CBD products that generates new agriculture opportunities and brings jobs to the region.”

Southern Tier Hemp’s headquarters will be the largest hemp processing facility in New York State. As one of the first enterprises in New York to develop, manufacture and sell hemp CBD directly to consumers, the company will hire more than 100 employees at its new location during the next three years to support its operation. Its processing facility will produce a full range of CBD products including superfoods, body care creams, supplements and lotions. The company was the first to be awarded a 650,000 dollar grant from New York State for hemp development, which will be used towards the construction of the processing center.

The building will be operational for the 2019 CBD hemp harvest, which follows the success of the company’s nearly 50 acres harvested in 2018. Last year was Southern Tier Hemp’s second harvest. As part of the company’s commitment to the Southern Tier region of New York, the company established a partnership with the University of Binghamton’s School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences to research the pharmaceutical benefits of CBD and additional cannabinoids in a state-of-the-art lab in its future headquarters.

New York State is at the forefront with its support for the emerging hemp industry,” says Mr. Falcone. “We envision years of growth for the market that will elevate our business in the Southern Tier region as the hemp category continues to advance with individuals experiencing the benefits of CBD products.”

Southern Tier Hemp is dedicated to manufacturing the highest quality products, while educating the consumer as to the benefits of hemp in all its manifestations.
