Sonus Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:SNUS - News) today announced that its Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer, Michael B. Stewart, M.D., is retiring, effective June 1, and will continue to work with the Company on an exclusive consulting basis at least through June 2007. Dr. Stewart's day-to-day responsibilities are being transitioned to Elaine Waller, Pharm.D., Vice President of Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance; and Richard Daifuku, M.D., Ph.D., Vice President of Preclinical and Clinical Research, who will also assume the role of acting Chief Medical Officer. Both Drs. Waller and Daifuku were recruited by Dr. Stewart, and have been with Sonus for a number of years.
