Scient'x, a privately held manufacturer dedicated to developing and commercializing spinal implants and instrument systems, has committed significant resources to augment its operational and commercial capabilities since its acquisition by HealthPoint Capital in January 2008.

Recent additions to the Scient'x team include: Ann Custin who joins Scient'x as the Chief Operating Officer/Chief Financial Officer. Ms. Custin was formerly the Chief Executive Officer of Draeger Medical Systems Inc., US, and prior to that, held senior positions at Siemens Medical Systems Inc. She brings eighteen years of broad-based experience in the life-sciences industry, including finance, manufacturing, process re-engineering, sales, marketing, and business integrations to the team. She is a graduate of Queens College of New York and will be based in the company's West Chester, Pennsylvania office, reporting to the CEO.
Jerome Rolland joins the Scient'x team as Vice President of Operations. He will be responsible for direct management of both the international and US operations. He previously held senior positions at Ressorts Messelin and Reiter Automotive as Purchase Director and Plant Manager respectively. He is a graduate of the University of Technology in Compiegne, France with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He will report to the COO/CFO and be based in Paris, France.
As the Director of US Operations, David Leonard recently joined the Scient'x team and will report to Ms. Custin, focusing on the strategic supply chain. Mr. Leonard brings with him an extensive history in operations including ten years with Synthes, Inc., where he attained the position of Manager of Strategic Projects. He is a graduate of Westminster College and received a masters degree from Lehigh University.
Chris DeNicola joins Scient'x as the US Vice President of Sales. Mr. DeNicola has worked in the orthopedic device industry since 1988, having held various positions of increasing responsibility including National Sales Training Manager, Director of Operations and Director of Sales. Mr. DeNicola spent seventeen years at Electro Biology Inc. (EBI), a subsidiary of Biomet Inc., where he served as Vice President of Sales. His most recent experience was with Small Bone Innovations as Senior Vice President of Sales where he created and developed the sales organization. Mr. DeNicola will be responsible for the Scient'x US Sales Team. He is a graduate of Johnson and Wales University. He will be based in the West Chester, Pennsylvania office and will report to the CEO.
