The SafeBridge Laboratory is accredited by AIHA in the Industrial Hygiene Accreditation program, for HPLC Fields of Testing as documented by the Scope of Accreditation Certificate. The AIHA acknowledges that SafeBridge has fulfilled the requirements of the AIHA Laboratory Quality Assurance Programs (LQAP), thereby, conforming to the ISO/IEC 17025:2005 international standard, General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories.
SafeBridge now becomes part of an elite group of laboratories achieving and maintaining a high level of professional performance. The AIHA Pharmaceutical LQAP is specifically designed for laboratories specializing in analysis of active pharmaceutical ingredients used within the industry. It is vital that the laboratory analyzing the samples be proficient in producing high quality data on which important occupational health decisions are based. SafeBridge’s accreditation from AIHA is confirmation of that capability.
AIHA evaluates candidate laboratories as meeting and/or exceeding distinct standards of performance based on assessment criteria. The assessment included personnel qualifications, participation in proficiency testing programs and on-site review of facilities, quality assurance, laboratory records, methods of analyses and standard operating procedures.
"The SafeBridge AIHA accreditation demonstrates to our clientele what we have been practicing since our inception and what we already know – that we are leaders in the accurate analysis of minute quantities of pharmaceutical compounds on industrial hygiene samples collected in the workplace environment. This is a significant achievement for the laboratory and for the SafeBridge group as a whole," said John P. Farris, CIH, President and Chief Executive Officer of SafeBridge. "Every person in the laboratory played an important role in our goal of attaining accreditation, and, together, the group functioned as a highly effective team. The leadership of our Vice President and Principal Chemist, Teresa Bryning was tremendous throughout the process".
In addition to industrial hygiene sample analysis, the SafeBridge Laboratory specializes in analytical method development and protective clothing permeation studies. Laboratory technologies include high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), enzyme immunoassay (EIA) and radioimmunoassay (RIA).
