RESTON HOSPITAL CENTER AND CHILDREN’S NATIONAL HEALTH SYSTEM ANNOUNCE PARTNERSHIP

Reston Hospital Center (RHC) and Children’s National Health System in Washington, D.C. announced a strategic partnership to enhance the neonatology services at RHC.

RESTON, VA – April 5, 2019 – Reston Hospital Center (RHC) and Children’s National Health System in Washington, D.C. announced a strategic partnership to enhance the neonatology services at RHC. This partnership will provide advanced short- and long-term care for babies requiring a higher level of care due to premature birth, labor complications or birth defects.

Already recognized as a one of Northern Virginia’s premier providers of neonatal intensive care as a Level III NICU, RHC will now bring Children’s National physicians onsite to their NICU. Under the expanded partnership, patients will now have access to the clinical expertise of Children’s National providers in a location closer to home.

“Bringing Children’s expertise to Reston is an exciting next step in advanced neonatal care,” says Dr. Robin Steinhorn, Senior Vice President at Children’s National Health System. “We will have a board-certified neonatologist from Children’s National onsite at RHC 24/7, allowing families to stay here with their baby, closer to home and their support base, while benefiting from the best care the country has to offer.”

“Children’s National is the nation’s leader in neonatal care. Partnering with them complements the recent expansion of our Women’s and Children’s Services,” says John Deardorff, President and CEO of Reston Hospital Center and HCA’s Northern Virginia market. “In addition to expanding our NICU and Antepartum Services for high risk pregnancies, this partnership is vital to ensuring our neonatal patients have a continuum of care with access to pediatric subspecialty services closer to home.”
