An interdisciplinary team of chemists, oncologists and one statistician at Stanford has taken the first step toward developing a technique that can identify the origin of certain types of cancer—a potential boon to doctors prescribing therapies for their patients. The researchers’ findings were published July 3 in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
