TARRYTOWN, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: REGN) today announced financial and operating results for the third quarter of 2006. The Company reported a net loss of $27.4 million, or $0.48 per share (basic and diluted), for the third quarter of 2006 compared with a net loss of $34.7 million, or $0.62 per share (basic and diluted), for the third quarter of 2005. The Company reported a net loss of $71.4 million, or $1.25 per share (basic and diluted), for the nine months ended September 30, 2006 compared with a net loss of $65.8 million, or $1.18 per share (basic and diluted), for the same period in 2005. Results for the first nine months of 2005 included other contract income of $30.6 million resulting from one-time, non-recurring payments of $25.0 million from the sanofi-aventis Group and $5.6 million from The Procter & Gamble Company in connection with amendments to the Company’s collaboration agreements with sanofi-aventis and Procter & Gamble.
