LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y., /PRNewswire/ -- ProHEALTH Care, the largest independent, physician-run healthcare organization in the Northeast, announces the new Parenting Lounge educational series designed to help parents improve their parenting skills and to develop healthy relationships with their children. The program is free to all parents and will begin with pilot events, eventually expanding the event catalogue to daily courses & programs. ProHEALTH Care is introducing this educational program as part of its mission to promote a healthy family dynamic and better support the parents in the community it serves. The ProHEALTH Care Parenting Lounge will host educational courses geared to teach parents general parenting skills, and support them in developing and maintaining healthy relationships with their children through all ages of childhood. “The ProHEALTH Care Parenting Lounge will address common parenting concerns that are especially challenging for all parents such as prenatal care, newborn care, and breastfeeding, and offer solutions to assist and support parents as their children develop and grow,” said Elizabeth Bigos, MHA, RN, Chief Nursing Officer at ProHEALTH Care. “We also believe it is extremely important to offer these classes free to our communities to give parents and families the tools and knowledge to start their children’s lives off as healthy as possible. By providing these classes as a free service to our communities, we hope we can impact this critical development time.” Initially, the series will focus on prenatal and postnatal needs, with three programs: The Prenatal Experience, The Breastfeeding Experience, and The Newborn Experience. The program will kick off with three classes in February and four in March, with additional programs and classes throughout the year. The classes will take place at the ProHEALTH Care Parenting Lounge, Quad Cafe Conference Room, located in the ProHEALTH Care campus headquarters in Lake Success, NY. The robust curriculum will offer topics targeted for both new parents and parents of older children and young adults.
