Philips healthcare is making progress on its Google Glass hands-free operating room vital signs monitoring, but the long view on the technology is still uncertain. Operating rooms may host hands-free Google Glass inspired patient monitoring, but Philips Healthcare (NYSE:PHG) isn’t convinced that the original Google Glass will be the device that makes that leap. The healthcare giant has been working on integrating its IntelliVue Solutions with Google Glass to allow surgeons to see patient vital signs right on the lenses while performing operations, and the technology may be just a couple of years from hitting shelves.
