MedWire News: Coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery performed on-pump reduces the risk for early graft occlusion compared with off-pump, Portuguese researchers report. Writing in the European Heart Journal, Miguel Sousa Uva (Hospital da Cruz Vermelha Portuguesa, Lisbon) and team say: "Lower anticoagulation levels might explain the difference in patency rates between off-pump and on-pump, because the observed differences... were no longer statistically different when total heparin dose was accounted for in the analyses."
