BRATTLEBORO, Vt., Jan. 15, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Southern Vermont Digital Forensics Laboratory, Inc. is thrilled to announce expansion plans, beginning early this year, in collaboration with its newly formed subsidiary SVDFL Digital Forensics Laboratories. The strategic expansion for opening two new regional forensic labs in Burlington, VT and Montpelier, VT is to serve the more central to northern half of the State -- specifically for public defenders and private defense counsel -- on criminal cases. The new forensic labs will be staffed by some of New England’s best and well-respected digital forensics experts specializing in computer and cell phone forensics (along with cell tower Geo-location expert services). Each digital forensics lab will have full video and audio forensics available for cases involving security camera recordings and dash and body cams, including audio and video forensic authenticity verification and quality enhancement. The new SVDFL Digital Forensics Laboratories will be high security facilities, adhering to the strictest guidelines as set forth by the ASCLD/LAB standards for digital forensic laboratories. Each lab will obtain ASCLD digital forensics accreditation based on international standards for public and private sector crime laboratories. They will be among the first in the State of Vermont in the digital forensics field. SVDFL will erase the common paradigm that the “Court Expert” is the only focus of services. It will have a fully trained staff and state-of-the-art forensic equipment and software, through which it will become the rare New England nationally recognized accredited digital forensics laboratory. Funding for this expansion project is being made by private grants and gifts from organizations whose missions are protecting the constitutional rights and equal fair treatment of all citizens, and a presumed assumption of innocence until proven otherwise.
