Neuro Kinetics, Inc. Appoints Dr. Terri Ives Clinical Director, Audiology

PITTSBURGH, Dec. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Neuro Kinetics, Inc. (www.neuro-kinetics.com), manufacturers of noninvasive medical diagnostic equipment used worldwide for balance, vestibular and neurological disorder tests, said today that Dr. Terri Ives has been appointed clinical director, audiology.

Ives will manage the company's clinical testing, coordination of multi- site research projects, clinical support, regulatory compliance and educational/training outreach programs for audiologists and other specialists. She also will be involved in new product development and research and will help represent the company with professional associations.

Earlier this year, Neuro Kinetics introduced its I-Portal(R)-VNG (Video Nystagmography System) and I-Portal(R)-Super VNG, designed for in-office early-screening balance and dizziness testing by audiologists, as well as otolaryngologists, neurologists and others. The company also manufactures other medical devices, including the Neuro-Otologic Test Center (NOTC) featuring its renowned barany (rotational) chair.

Before joining Neuro Kinetics, Ives held a number of managerial and research positions at clinics, research facilities and medical firms. She was manager of clinical research at Sound ID in Palo Alto, California, and also was chief of audiology and director of the Balance Center at the Hearing Institute for Children and Adults in San Jose, California.

Ives also was director of diagnostic audiology at the California Ear Institute at Stanford in Palo Alto. She has served on various editorial, advisory and examination boards for such leading publications as Audiology Online and the American Academy of Audiology Vestibular Disorders Evaluation and Treatment Examination Committee.

A Fellow in the American Academy of Audiology and holding the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) by the American Speech-Language- Hearing Association, Ives has a Doctor of Audiology degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry's School of Audiology (where she also served as an assistant professor), both a Doctor of Science in Audiology and a Master of Audiology from Boston University, and a Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders from Emerson College (with honors).

Ives, originally born in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and raised on the family homestead ranch near Rozet, Wyoming, now lives in the Denver area. Her husband, Phillip Ives, Au.D., is the manager of issue tracking with Advanced Bionics Corporation. They have four children.
