PITTSBURGH, Sept. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield is rated among the top 10 health plans nationally for member satisfaction, according to the National Committee for Quality Assurance’s (NCQA) “State of Health Care Quality” report released today.
The annual report highlights the results of the Consumer Assessment of Health Plans Survey, a tool used by NCQA-accredited plans to show members’ experience with the insurer during the past year.
“One of our top priorities is providing the highest level of service to our members,” said Kenneth Melani, M.D., Highmark’s president and chief executive officer. “This award acknowledges that commitment.”
Highmark scored in the top 10 percent for 7 out of the 10 member satisfaction measures, including satisfaction with the health plan and plan physicians.
Since 2000, Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield has held NCQA’s top accreditation status of excellent for KeystoneBlue, SelectBlue and SecurityBlue managed care health products.
