MJH Associates Inc., a full-service health care communications company, is expanding its Strategic Alliance Partnership (SAP) program with the addition of the Patient Access Network (PAN) Foundation.
CRANBURY, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- MJH Associates Inc., a full-service health care communications company, is expanding its Strategic Alliance Partnership (SAP) program with the addition of the Patient Access Network (PAN) Foundation. The partnership will extend across multiple MJH Associates Inc. franchises, including The American Journal of Managed Care® (AJMC®), CURE Media Group, MD Magazine®, Oncology Nursing News® (ONN®), Rare Disease Communications® and Targeted Oncology™.
In making the announcement, Michael J. Hennessy Jr., president of MJH Associates Inc., said, “We are so pleased to welcome the Patient Access Network Foundation to our SAP family. Through this partnership, we will educate providers, pharmacists, patients and their caregivers on available financial resources such as copay assistance programs, and how to manage high out-of-pocket costs. We look forward to working with all of our brands on this educational effort.”
PAN’s mission is to help underinsured people with life-threatening, chronic and rare diseases, get the medications and treatment they need by paying for their out-of-pocket costs and advocating for improved access and affordability. PAN provides financial assistance in the form of grants to eligible patients directly or through their pharmacies or providers’ offices. These grants provide access to treatment and are critically important for individuals facing high out-of-pocket costs, especially at the beginning of each calendar year as a result of high up-front deductibles.
In 2017, PAN awarded over $372 million in assistance to patients. Since 2004, PAN has helped nearly 1 million underinsured patients with more than $3 billion in copay assistance for needed treatments through their 70 disease specific programs.
“We are excited to join MJH Associates’ Strategic Alliance Partnership program to share our expertise and educate patients and caregivers, providers and pharmacies about the financial resources that are available through charitable foundations like the PAN Foundation,” said Dan Klein, PAN president and CEO. “By working with MJH and its publications and communications platforms, we have a unique opportunity to help Americans manage their out-of-pocket costs, and to create a dialogue about ways we can work together to lower these costs.”
The SAP program builds a community of advocacy groups, medical associations and medical institutions fostering collaboration and an open exchange of information for the ultimate benefit of patients and their families. It is designed to facilitate an open exchange of information among trusted peers, with the goal to improve patient care. As part of this joint effort, PAN will be able to provide expertise and share valuable content, resources, programs and awareness campaigns through AJMC®, CURE®, MD Magazine®, ONN®, Rare Disease Communication® and Targeted Oncology™. Readers will have access to unprecedented resources, including the latest interviews and articles that can help underinsured patients with life-threatening, chronic and rare diseases get the medications and treatment they need.
