SAN ANTONIO, Jan. 26, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Mission Pharmacal Company announces the recent formation of Alamo Pharma Services. This new business unit, a wholly owned subsidiary of Mission, will provide pharmaceutical sales teams with operational and human resources (HR) support. Alamo will be headquartered in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, expanding Mission‘s Northeastern United States presence, which also includes the company’s Commercial Group operations and BioComp Pharma, Mission‘s lifecycle management and generics company.
“Alamo is an outgrowth of my grandfather, H.N. Walsdorf‘s, longstanding commitment to service excellence. The organization was created to be a strategic partner for the Mission sales teams, providing best-in-class operational support,” notes Neill Walsdorf Jr, president of Mission Pharmacal Company. “Alamo enables Mission to take advantage of unique sales and marketing opportunities that will drive financial results and bottom-line success.”
Initially, Alamo will focus on those sales teams representing Mission‘s four primary therapeutic areas women’s health, urology, pediatrics, and the newly launched dermatology team. For each of these areas, Alamo will assist with support that includes:
- Recruiting, training, and assisting the personnel on the Mission sales teams
- Providing all HR support, performance management, and talent management functions for the sales organization
- Providing fleet management, expense management, analytics, and sales force automation services through partner organizations
- Supporting full commercial promotion channels for health care professionals, specifically in Mission‘s four core therapeutic areas
“We are keenly focused on how Alamo can offer value and provide added benefits through Mission‘s strategic business partnerships with other pharmaceutical companies servicing similar therapeutic areas,” notes Terry Herring, president of Alamo Pharma Services. “These types of alliances are critically important to us and Alamo will work to both establish and enhance them moving forward. Further, as this new subsidiary matures, the opportunity exists for us to fine tune this business unit and offer it to clients on a much broader scale, further enhancing Mission‘s overall diversification strategy.”
Joining Herring to run Alamo will be chief operating officer Peter Marchesini. “Our first priority is to provide operational excellence to the Mission Pharmacal teams,” says Marchesini. “By building and enhancing internal capabilities and leaning on the rich service offerings of key partner organizations, we are able to support our sales teams at the highest levels in the industry.”
This developing network of support allows Mission to continually explore unique product and company alliances that further enhance a solid backbone of services. “Alamo Pharma Services takes advantage of our many years of experience on both the pharma and services sides of the business,” adds Herring. “Providing excellent support for our teams and creating partnering opportunities with both start-up and smaller pharmaceutical companies are two primary drivers of starting Alamo. With this business in place, we are better positioned to achieve those goals.”
