GENERAL HIGHLIGHTS

Meridian Bioscience, Inc., Cincinnati, Ohio (NASDAQ: VIVO) today:

* reported fiscal 2011 second quarter and six months net sales of $41.1 million and $78.3 million, respectively, increases of 32% and 6%, respectively, from the same periods of the prior fiscal year; * reported second quarter operating income of $11.0 million, an increase of 20% compared to the prior year second quarter; * reported six months operating income of $20.1 million, a decrease of 12% compared to the same period of the prior fiscal year.
