NEEDHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Cambridge Healthtech Institute, the leader in conference development and management for the life sciences industry, is pleased to introduce Geoff Pardo, Partner, Gilde Healthcare as the new host of the Medtech Talk Podcast which has over 150,000 downloads and more than 2,500 subscribers since launching in 2015.
The Medtech Talk Podcast, along with the longstanding Medtech Conference were acquired in 2019 from Healthegy. Craig Simak, founder of the Conference and original producer of the podcast said, “After the acquisition by CHI, some of the team went in different directions and so I thought rather than have another journalist hosting, let’s tap someone from the industry that has firsthand experience building and funding medical device companies. Of course, we wanted someone with a great personality that everybody knows, likes and respects -- Geoff is that guy.”
“When I was approached to do this, I got excited about the chance to interview people and find out how they got into medtech, what drives them, the tough experiences they went through and what they’ve learned that has made them successful. I love the medtech business and the impact that our companies have on patients. Seeing these technologies change lives is incredibly gratifying, so I’m really excited to be talking to the people on the front lines and bringing their stories out for everyone to enjoy and learn from,” said Geoff Pardo.
Geoff began his career in medical devices as a product manager with Synthes USA and then was recruited by Cardinal Partners as an Associate to lead their investing activity in the medical device sector. From there, Geoff joined Spray Venture Partners where he invested in Interlace Medical (sold to Hologic), Solace Therapeutics, TearScience (sold to J&J), Cascade Ophthalmics and Conventus Orthopedics. Geoff also had the opportunity to serve as President & CEO of Facet Solutions, a spinal implant company sold to Globus Medical in 2011. That led to his current role with EU-based Gilde Healthcare, where he has led investments in Inari Medical, Axonics Modulation Technologies (NASDAQ: AXNX), CVRx, Ablative Solutions, Vesper Medical, InovaLabs (acquired by ResMed), BionX (acquired by Ottobock) and Vapotherm (NYSE:VAPO). Geoff has a BA with honors in History from Brown University and an MBA from the Wharton School of Business.
