EDMONTON, Alberta, Aug. 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Medical Services International Inc. (Pinksheets: MSITF) is pleased to announce that it has added distributors of the VScan products in Macedonia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Serbia, Montenegro, Croatia, Bosnia, Herzegovina, Albania and Kosovo. It is anticipated based on market studies that these countries combined will purchase up to 1.5 million kits per year generating gross revenue of approximately $3.5 million US per year. The VScan kits generating the most interest for these areas are the VScan HIV and Tuberculosis (TB) kits.
Once again, the reason that the Company is able to increase its distribution network is the excellent test results that the kits get when tested by regulatory authorities. The VScan HIV test kits are ideal for these countries due to their accuracy using whole blood and the fact that they do not require refrigeration, medical facilities and trained medical personnel. They can be used with ease in remote areas. The VScan HIV test kit is the only test kit on the market to detect the antigen IgM. Detection of IgM can occur within 2 to 11 days of infection. Early detection is important in controlling the spread of HIV.
