The CIB is IU's "greenest" building in the state, with a gold LEED certification and 123,000 square feet of gross space that includes collaborative, open-space office designs, teleconferencing areas, telepresence rooms and "focus booths" for meetings and private discussions, as well as soft and bar-style seating to encourage work throughout the building. The CIB, which is adjacent to the IU Data Center and the IU Innovation Center, offers an employee bicycle garage, locker rooms with showers and storage, solar panels and grounds landscaped for water capture.
The event will also feature presentation of two university medals of distinction: Dennis Gannon will receive the President's Medal of Excellence and Ira Fuchs the Thomas Hart Benton Mural Medallion.
