What: The Massachusetts Life Sciences Center (MLSC) will announce a major capital grant for a life-sciences-related capital project in Cambridge on Monday, March 18th at 10 a.m. Congressman Michael Capuano and local legislators are scheduled to participate.
Through the MLSC, Massachusetts is investing $1 billion over 10 years in the growth of the state’s life sciences supercluster. These investments are being made under the Massachusetts Life Sciences Initiative, proposed by Governor Patrick in 2007, and passed by the State Legislature and signed into law by Governor Patrick in 2008.
Also being recognized at Monday’s event are a high school and two Cambridge-based workforce development organizations that were awarded equipment and supply matching grants from the Center in December, 2012: the BioBuilder Educational Foundation, the Massachusetts Biotechnology Education Foundation and the Rindge School of Technical Arts.
