CAMBRIDGE, MA (April 2, 2015) – MassBio members can now save on leading scientific and business journals through new partnerships with the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), Banker & Tradesman and DrugPatentWatch.
By joining the already robust MassBio Purchasing Consortium, AAAS has committed to offering MassBio members that are new subscribers 25-45% off of subscriptions for their peer-reviewed journals Science, Science Signaling and Science Translational Medicine. AAAS is the world’s largest general scientific society and is dedicated to “advancing science, engineering, and innovation throughout the world for the benefit of all people.”
Banker & Tradesman will offer MassBio members a 20% savings ($75) off the regular annual subscription fee and a free three-month trial subscription. For more than 140 years, Banker & Tradesman has been the leader in collecting and reporting property, financial and banking information and public records. The often hard-to-find data and breaking news stories help readers stay on the pulse in the marketplace, spot trends and identify opportunities, and help influence smart business decisions.
DrugPatentWatch will offer new MassBio members a free 6-month Ultimate Plan subscription and will offer 20% off for existing MassBio members. DrugPatentWatch concentrates competitive intelligence on small-molecule drugs and the 90,000 global patents covering them. These data support critical business decisions around budgeting, future drug development, formulation, manufacturing, and more.
“Access to leading science and business publications is critical but sometimes prohibitively expensive for our small member companies,” said Robert K. Coughlin, President & CEO of MassBio. “We are thrilled to help our members access subscriptions to Science, Banker & Tradesman, and DrugPatentWatch at a discount through these new partnerships.”
MassBio adds these new publication savings to the already existing discounts provided by Nature Publishing Group and Journal of Commercial Biotechnology and will continue to expand its journal offerings for members in the future.
The MassBio Purchasing Consortium aggregates the purchasing power of MassBio member companies to negotiate contracts with vendors that create significant savings for members. Other current contracts include lab supplies, equipment, and prescription/safety eyewear and footwear, equipment maintenance, hazardous and biomedical waste removal, packaged and bulk gases, office supplies and furniture, travel management, auto insurance, and domestic and international shipping.
